An Update on CTT Progress!
Since the Club Transition Team was created and its mandate approved by the Club Executive Committee and presented to the Membership at
the last AGM in March this year, the members of the CTT have been working on producing a Three-year ‘strategic plan’ for the Club.
It has been very gratifying to be able to say that numerous members have come forward to assist the CTT in developing our plans.
Kylie Reynolds, Andrew Wright, Ron Goddard and Carlos Vilhena are CTT members.
Under thleadership of Carlos Vilhena, the work has been divided in seven subcommittee:
1. Membership Development (Tiago Vieira, Raj Tandon, Carlos Vilhena). This comprises of focus on two distinct groups, ‘Social & Friendship’ and Business & Networking under separate working parties. This important area is key to our plans for our Club; without membership growth we cannot prosper especially today when potential members have so many choices in how to occupy their leisure time and of course, which organisations they might choose to join.
2. Premises (Ninna Taylor, Mathhew Krystman, Andrew Wright, Carlos Vilhena). This group is investigating the possibility and methods by which the Club again, might have its own premises.
3. Events (Ron Goddard). This key group is a key area for the Club, and we know for all Members.
4. Social Responsibility (David Wright, John Phillips, Carlos Vilhena). The CTT believes that this area is key to the Club going forward, both in differentiating ourselves from other clubs and in contributing and ‘giving back’ to the communities in the greater Lisbon area.
5. Reciprocal Clubs (Ron Goddard, Jose Miguel Cerqueira, Ian Yarwood). As the Club develops, we have an objective to greatly expand our relationships with other clubs internationally. This is good for our existing members when they travel and important element in attracting new members to our Club. To do this we need a compelling proposition for our club and features and facilities that are attractive to other clubs. The CTT was also tasked to look at expanding the list of Corporate Members and Sponsors.
6. Finance, Administration & IT (Paul Mallet, John Hughes, Carlos Vilhena). These matters are vital to ensuring the Club’s smooth operations, transparency, and long-term stability. A well organised Club be essential for the implementation of the Strategy Plan.
7. Marketing, Communications & Social Media (Richard Macey, Andrew Wright). Last and not at all least. Marketing, communications and social media form a very important aspect to retention and recruiting of members, as well as providing members with useful information. The work of this subcommittee is very much intertwined with other committee’s work. In July a survey will be made available to the membership.
The CTT is on course to complete the Club’s Strategic Three-Year Plan in time for an EGM in September.
